Why Inspections Are Non‑Negotiable
Pre‑trip inspections reduce breakdowns and keep you safe on the road. Our pre‑trip checklist recommends inspecting tires, lights, mirrors, windshield, slide‑outs, awnings, roof, batteries and fluid levels. Systematic checks maintain safe driving conditions, ensure legal compliance and protect your RV investment. Catching small problems early—such as underinflated tires, loose lug nuts, fluid leaks and dead batteries—prevents costly repairs and roadside breakdowns.
Our Multi‑Point Inspection
- Exterior walkaround – looking for visible damage, leaks or loose parts.
- Tires & suspension – checking tread depth, sidewall condition and inflation; inspecting spring shackles and U‑bolts.
- Lighting & safety systems – testing headlights, brake lights, turn signals, marker lights and emergency flashers.
- Slide‑outs & awnings – ensuring slides retract securely and seals are intact.
- Roof & seals – examining roof membrane, sealants around vents and skylights, and resealing if necessary.
Mechanical & Electrical Checks
- Mechanical systems & fluids – checking engine oil, coolant, transmission fluid and belts for wear.
- Generator function – running under load, listening for unusual noises and verifying voltage output.
- Battery & electrical – testing battery voltage (12.6 V or higher when fully charged), inspecting terminals for corrosion and verifying converter/inverter operation.
Inspection Benefits
A thorough inspection improves safety, reduces repair costs and ensures everything works when you need it. It also provides documentation that can support warranty claims and resale value. We recommend a multi‑point inspection at least once per year and before any long trip.
